Would you SQUARE?
Question for anyone that goes to card shows... Im seriously considering accepting credit cards at these shows and have a new option. It is called SQUARE and plugs directly into an IPhone to be able to transmit the card... Is this something that would alarm you if I was sitting behind a table and took your card, ran it through my phone, and gave you your item? It is somewhat shaky to me as who knows what that person is doing but what is your opinion?
Here is a link to it

I would never pay like that, ever. I only use cash at shows.
I mean unless you "know" the dealer, but at that point it would make more sense to carry out a transaction through a more conventional payment method at another time.

All you guys say you wouldn't, but just wait until everyone's using it and it will seem normal. "I said I wouldn't SQUARE? Are you crazy!? Why wouldn't I use SQUARE!!???"

That is exactly my thinking... Its amazing how we are so willing to send someone in China paypal but not willing to use a credit card at a card show down the street from our house...

I can see what you are saying, but I still wouldn't. You could "accidentally" punch in an extra number and make an extra few hundred bucks without the person knowing until it is on their statement.

You could do the same thing anywhere, someone hitting one extra button however I dont find this alarming whatsoever Id say if I used credit card on everyday purchases I would use it however im a straight cash guy typically.
