Non-sport deceased: Michael Crichton, I would've loved to have gotten his autograph on a copy of "Jurassic Park" before he passed (It's my all-time favorite book). Luckily I recently got to purchase his autograph on a First Day Cover.

What makes this hobby so great is that each and every collection is unique in itself. There are very few duplicate names listed in this thread. If we were voting though it looks like Jackie Robinson would be the winner.
