    Deceased:
Gabby Hartnett, Legendary Cub, HOF class of '55

Alive: Nolan Ryan - on a 16x20 pic of him beating the ™™™™ out of robin ventura

And for alive I'd say the same as autocollectr79's answer That'd be sweet!

Non-sport deceased: Michael Crichton, I would've loved to have gotten his autograph on a copy of "Jurassic Park" before he passed (It's my all-time favorite book). Luckily I recently got to purchase his autograph on a First Day Cover.

What makes this hobby so great is that each and every collection is unique in itself. There are very few duplicate names listed in this thread. If we were voting though it looks like Jackie Robinson would be the winner.

I thought Shoeless Joe Jackson was unable to write his name. Illiterate was the reason why.

Ha, I bet! What's his deal anyways? I know he's a lunatic but he refuses to sign ANYTHING.

I don't know but I was fortunate to get him TTM years ago with a military address.
