Riggs, I'm 100% right with you! I have been thinking the same thing for a while now. I see the "multi sport success" threads and think the same thing.
Even though I know that I easily qualify for the SCF TTM Super Collector status, I don't feel the need to apply for it. However, I have always gladly posted new addys & successes on the TTMM. This site shouldn't be for those hording addys and/or successes...

I'll admit, I have never posted in the database. I use the database on SCN, but post on my success thread here. I'll do better!

I try to post in the database as much as possible though sometimes it feels like it doesn't matter whether I do or not. I send to many hockey players and the recent successes change very little as you see the same 4 of 5 people posting all the time. It does get frustrating and feels like a waste of time. Also I think it would be kind of cool to have a place wher you could see which member has posted the most addresses and recieved the most successes. And could you make the image size limit larger, say 200kb.

I totally was a part of the problem when I had started posting in my thread on here. See, I use this forum for the community and I use SCF for the addresses, so I had never thought to add to the TTMM because I really don't use it. That being said, I've been making sure to take the time to add my successes to the TTMM at least for about the last 2 weeks and will do my best to keep doing so.

I like this thread. I always use the database as a means to see who is signing and to update my success, and see my success rate. I've also noticed that a lot of people don't use it, maybe this thread will get that going!

Thank you everyone for the comments in this thread. Very glad this didnt turn into a Finger pointing contest because thats the last thing we need in here & the furthest thing from my mind when i started it although i was worried. I myself have even slacked at times with some of my failures with it & never use the pending feature. Only add addys after i have a success with them. Just the way i do it i guess.
So thanks again to everyone for understanding the true point of this thread. Really shows how strong of a community we have here.

The TTMM is a great tool and will only get better the more it is used. The fact is though that some members do not care for it. Posts in the success threads seem more personal of a way to to tell other members about your successes and I get that. No one should feel that they have to you use either of them should they not want to. I do think that updating the TTMM is a great way of giving back to other members of our autograph community. This free tool to share addresses and see signing habits has to be a way help to members here when trying to mail off requests. I know that seeing successes from guys that I would have never taken a shot at like Shaq earlier this year would never have happend unless someone added his address for me in the TTMM and reported the success! He was a great addittion to my personal collection. Thank you to all of you who have helped my collection with your posts and I hope that I have provided some help to others along the way. That is what being part of an autograph community is about!
I understand that some areas of the database are not updated as much as others and that is due to the lessor amount of collectors we have in this section working on those sports. Golf and soccer seem to carry few postings and I understand the frustration of the member who knows how big the hockey community at SCF is and how few postings we have in that section of the TTMM. All I can say is if you know others who collect the same sport you do and send out requests invite them to share in the TTM Database with you. There are times that I bounce around the internet and see other forums talking up resources for information. Some of those other sites are very reasonable and a few seem costly to me. The fact is that very few are offering their members this type of tool for free. SCN, Harvey, Smallings and fanmail all seem to be the most talked about places to get addresses on other forums and our database is the young pup on the scene only being up and going for like two years now. In fact it was May 2009 when we first started to add the adddresses to build the database and Rockiesfan33 placed an even 1,000 address entries in that month alone into the system! Brian I still do not know how you were able to accomplish so much in such a short amount of time. My thanks to him and the other staffers who helped build the database and to all the members of the the autograph community here at SCF who has made it a success. Glad to see that some members here really do care about it.

I'll admit, I go in spurts, but I usually do get around to putting them in.
I need to see where I'm at and get caught up. Will do so today.

I know some of the why's were previously discussed. However, after looking at the many threads in the Success Discussion Area, it suddenly dawned on me why many people "forget
" and/or don't post all their successes on the TTMM. Many members enjoy showing off their multi-signed items and you can only show/post one in TTMM. For those of you who do both, hats off to you! By posting in the TTMM it gives the other members the ability to gauge who signs, how often, how long it takes, what they sign, etc. Riggs, you da man!
