SCF’s “The Greatest Rivalry” Contest

It is a rivalry that is as old as the National Hockey League itself. They have played each other over 700 times in the regular season, and another 70 times in the playoffs. They have competed against one another for the Stanley Cup on five occasions. They have the two largest fan bases in the entire NHL, with adherents from coast to coast to coast in Canada and many more around the world.

The Montreal Canadiens and the Toronto Maple Leafs.

And SCF and our friends at Legends Depot want YOU to see the rivalry LIVE and IN-PERSON!

We have teamed up to bring you the ultimate contest for any Leafs or Habs fan – the opportunity to see the teams square off on April 7th at the Bell Centre in Montreal. The winner of “The Greatest Rivalry” will receive the following:

Two tickets to the Toronto Maple Leafs @ Montreal Canadiens game on April 7th
Passes to meet Canadiens players
Autographed stuff

We have put together an impressive season-long contest that will keep Habs & Leafs fans in the running for the grand prize. The contest will be made up of the following challenges:

1. Season Predictor Contest (October) - who will win the series for the first five games, who will score the most goals, which goalie will have the best GAA, and more!

2. Individual Game Head-to-Heads - who will win, final score, GWG, etc.
-- Games to be played: October 6, October 22, January 21, February 11, March 3
***The member with the most combined points from these 5 challenges will win a box of 2011-12 SP Game Used, courtesy of our friends at Upper Deck!

3. Habs & Leafs Trivia (November) – With decades of history, the greatest rivalry has many interesting and intriguing facts. Do you think you know your team? How much do you know about the other one? There will be one question asked every day. All correct responses will be entered into a randomizer with a valuable point on the line every day.

4. Essay Contest (December) – In 500 words or less, tell us which team you think is winning the rivalry and why they will always be superior to their opponent.

5. Show & Tell (January) – How awesome is your Habs or Leafs collection? We want to see it! Show us the current roster in hockey card and/or memorabilia form – we’ll post the list of the current respective rosters at the start of the month and you will have 30 days to decide how you want to show off your team. The SCF staff and members will vote on the best presentation!

Season Predictor Contest – 1 point for each correct answer
1st Place: 25 Points
2nd Place: 15 Points
3rd Place: 10 Points
4th Place: 7Points
5th Place: 4 Points
6th Place: 1 Point

Individual Game Head-to-Heads – 1 point for each correct answer (25 Points Available)
1st Place: 5 Points
2nd Place: 3 Points
3rd Place: 1 Point

Habs & Leafs Trivia – 1 point per day (30 Points Available)

Essay Contest – to be judged by SCF Staff
1st Place: 15 Points
2nd Place: 10 Points
3rd Place: 5 Points
4th Place: 3 Points
5th Place: 1 Point

Show and Tell – to be judged by SCF Staff and Members
1st Place: 15 Points
2nd Place: 10 Points
3rd Place: 5 Points
4th Place: 3 Points
5th Place: 1 Point

In addition to these challenges, we also have some rules and guidelines for all members.

First and foremost, you are responsible for getting to Montreal to attend the game as well as any accommodations. You get yourself to the door of the Bell Centre, we’ll take care of the rest. If you cannot attend the game, you may still participate to win the smaller contest prizes (details of which are still being finalized), but please be up-front with us well in advance so that we can award the grand prize to somebody that can live out this fantastic experience. We are deliberately finishing things in early March so that you have a full month to make your arrangements to get to Montreal.

Participation in SCF activity is an absolute must for a contest of this nature. To coincide with the monthly challenges (every contest except for the Game Night Head-to-Heads) you will be required to make at least 3 SCF deals in each of these months. The Game Night challenges will be posted a week in advance of the games - you must make one SCF transaction during this period. These include trades or sales but not CC transactions (in other words, any deal must be feedback-eligible for both parties), and cannot be used for other contests being run on the site.

All members must be in good standing to be eligible to win The Greatest Rivalry contest, meaning:
- No serious infractions during the contest: a serious infraction is any infraction worth over 3 points – any serious infractions will result in disqualification from the contest.
- No suspensions: if you get suspended from SCF for rule violations during the contest, you are disqualified from participating.
- No negative feedback during the duration of the contest - any negative feedback received will be investigated by the SCF Dispute Team.
- You may only enter each contest once. Multiple entries from any contest will result in disqualification.

Participation in all contests is not mandatory but doing so will greatly increase your chances of winning.
