View my store BetaJones is decent if he is playing a corner spot now. He can't play center but he is better in the outfield than Ibanez and they have given Ibanez too many games in the outfield to begin with.
The Yankees need offense right now and having a guy batting .100 in the lineup isn't going to help the lineup score runs. Put in Jones, Nix, or call up somebody else from the minors. You really have no upside with Wise in my opinion.Trade Bucket: Hidden Content

View my store BetaOh yes, Keep playing Andruw Jones! He's a washed-up primadonna who's hitting .217 and has struck-out in nearly half of his at-bats.
Keep playing him and I'm sure he'll do just as good as he did for the Dodgers in '08 and every other team he's played for since.
Yankees are 21-21 and tied with Boston in the cellar of the AL East!!
As a Dodger fan, I gotta love it!
Girardi should start getting worried. It's almost June, and I can see Valentine not being the only AL east manager to get canned if the Yankees don't at least finish 2nd by the end."I felt I had to prove...that the Yankees are just a team of ballplayers, not a pride of supermen." - Sandy Koufax; after striking out a series record 15 batters in game 1 of the '63 World Series

View my store BetaTo me, both Girardi and hitting coach Kevin Long should be on the hot seat.
Girardi is way too push-button a manager, particularly with his relief pitchers. He also has a dull lifeless team, and doesnt seem to be able to put some life into them.
Kevin Long did a great job with Curtis Granderson, but with who else? He hurt Jeter at the beginning of last year, and this year almost everyone is hitting poorly. Where is Lou Pineilla when you need him?

View my store BetaWith the injuries and how anemic the hitting has been to still be 22-21 at this point is a plus. There are so many negative stats in the hitting game with the Yankees right now it's not funny. They have the lowest batting average with runners in scoring position, have grounded into the most double plays, and if they are trailing after 8 you can count it as a loss,as they haven't had that late inning magic yet. With that being said they have managed to tread water and hover around the.500 mark,The Orioles will not remain as hot as they are now so I still think there is plenty of time to right the ship,119 games left and anything is still possible.

View my store BetaWell now that hockey is officially over for me,for this year at least, sorry my beloved Rangers maybe next year, and yes 93/94 does seem like a long time ago. With that said this post has the Yankees on a nice little winning streak, the hitting seems to be coming around, and they just might have enough pitching to make a run of it injuries and all.I will be posting on the games as I was before the Rangers disrupted me,keep up the winning Yankees.

View my store BetaI'm not really worried about their pitching at all....maybe if they didn't have Andy I would be worried but this offense scares me as being too good on paper but in reality it can easily get shutdown. They need to learn how to manufacture a run because in the playoffs you won't face pitchers who will let you hit 5 solo home runs off of them.

View my store BetaYou know me Steve, however I am not hating when I say the Yankees should be scared to death of their starting pitching, especially in the AL East.
Sabathia is doing ok, but not his normal season, Pettitte in his very small sample looks good, but Kuroda, Hughes, and Nova all look very bad. I think Kuroda can turn it around, but wouldn't expect the other 2 to do so.

View my store BetaNice win today, just as you were saying Dan Kuroda did turn it around,at least for today 8 innings of 5 hit 1 walk 5 strikeout baseball,I'll take it and Soriano pitched the 9th for the save.Teixeira had 2 hits one resulting in an rbi and Andruw Jones hit a solo homer for the other run, every other team in the division lost except the Rays as they were playing the Red Sox,so it was a good day for the Yankees and the winning streak is up to 5 games, now that's more like it.

View my store BetaKuroda's very Jekyl/Hide-ish. He'll pitch a 1-hitter and then give up 6 runs in 3 innings the next start, then go 7 strong after..
That's the rollercoaser known as Kuroda u'll have to deal with all year Yankee fans. Trust me, I watched him pitch a lot for the Dodgers for 4 years. But when he's on, you can practically mail it in."I felt I had to prove...that the Yankees are just a team of ballplayers, not a pride of supermen." - Sandy Koufax; after striking out a series record 15 batters in game 1 of the '63 World Series

View my store BetaIf Kuroda was pitching against somebody other than the A's then I would say he is turning it around but that lineup is AWFUL and outside of Reddick there is nobody that is going to do anything offensively so you should be able to pitch a good game against them.
