They really needed to win this last night. If they didn't then Tex getting thrown out just missing that HR and then them not being able to bring in Swisher on base would have been huge. I thought they lost it after that because the offense wasn't doing anything but CC shut down the O's. He really did come up big in this game.

Not surprising that they lost. The Yankees stink in close games and the O's are basically unbeatable. An amazing move by Ichiro to avoid getting tagged out at home but the game basically went downhill for the Yankees after that. The pitching is doing great but once again the hitting is lacking.

A split in Baltimore was fine, that was what i expected. Now in Yankee Stadium we need 2 of 3, should be able to do that. And yes, that Ichiro "slide" was insane!!!!!

Cant Girardi see that A-Rod needs to bat like 5th, and Cano needs to always be third and now that Tex is swinging better he bats 4th, then you can have A-Rod. Girardi is one stubborn coot.

A-rod doesn't need to bat at all,he is a strikeout waiting to happen.I thought Chavez was a better option in game 1 with a righty starting,in game 2 it was a lefty,you could've had A-rod batting 9th and dh'ing instead of Nunez.What's funny is I really have nothing to criticize Girardi about,the 3-2 loss was just one of those games where nobody could get a clutch hit,Swisher is awful in postseason play with runners in scoring position,something like 1 for 33 so unless he picks it up it's going to be hard to beat the O's.

It isn't like just Arod is costing the offense. The whole team seems to stink when they need to score a run or the game is close or tied all year. It is almost like they all press to try and hit a HR when all you have to do is get a walk or a single. You can't hit a HR every at bat so stop trying because a strikeout does nothing to advance the runners or help you win.
