View my store BetaSounds like a lot of bitterness here. The Tigers had the best pitching coming into the postseason and are showing why.
Also, the pitching AFTER Verlander is very good. Doug Fister is very good, Max Scherzer is very good, and so is Anibal Sanchez. (Granted the Yankees offense is well....very bad right now), and you can't get 'destroyed' if the other team isn't scoring much.Last edited by gladdyontherise; 10-17-2012 at 08:18 AM.

View my store BetaBe honest gladdy how good had the yankees pitching been? Kuroda pitched a gem barring the 2 unearned runs for the mised call. The yankee bats are silent but the yankee pitching has kept the tigers at bay

View my store BetaThe funny thing is all the "older" guys on the team like Ichiro, Jeter, and Ibanez are really the only guys hitting in the post season. They need to get BETTER not just younger. I was ahead of the curve when I called out this team at the beginning of the year for being totally overrated and I'm still shocked they were able to make the playoffs with so many injuries.
They have for too long just filled up their roster with players who on paper look good but they never show up when they need to. They are mostly a bunch of guys who aren't leaders but they are stay behind and pounce when the situation greatly favors them and then they quickly disappear when the going gets tough. The 2009 team had Damon, Posada, and Matusi all of whom could still probably bat better than this sorry bunch right now.
But just keep filling the team with guys who have horrid histories in the post season and expect some miracle to happen. Guess what it won't.Trade Bucket: Hidden Content

View my store BetaFace it the Yankees hitting sucked against Baltimore also,no bitterness I'm just saying how I feel,if the Yankees had been lighting it up trust me I'd give Detroit all the credit in the world, but they got to face a team that was in a collective slump

View my store BetaI hate to say it but the Cardinals or giants will eat either of the 2 al teams alive. The Yanks need to let Nunez and Dickerson and Gardner who was hurt most of the year play every day.Manny Buenlous isout for a year but will be back for pitching. It is time to let some youth in a drop dead weight like A fraud and swisher.

View my store BetaIt's been very good, I don't deny that, though, that's the difference.
However, the Tigers have 4 great/very good pitchers in their rotation, and (despite the slump) good pitching shuts down good hitting. Always has, always will.
This is the same staff that (besides Jose Valverde) shut down the Oakland A's, who had been on fire as the regular season came to an end. It's not a fluke, or just the fact the Yankees have bad postseason hitters, Verlander, Scherzer, Fister and Sanchez are just that good.
