    So... Who's got $75,000?

    I want this.

    http://www.sportscollectorsdaily.com...ts-up-for-bid/

    An excerpt...

"Offered is a run of autographed Topps Baseball sets (including Traded sets), from 1974-1990. There are more than 14,000 signed cards included and since League Leaders, Rookies and other singles through the years have more than one player per card, that means there are probably more than 15,000 autographs in the lot.

"The collection of signed Topps sets is more than 99 percent complete and has around 30 Nolan Ryan signatures, as well as dozens of Pete Rose, Mike Schmidt, Reggie Jackson and many other major stars and Hall of Famers from the era."

Bidding opened at $35k, it was at $75k as of last night.

Amazing item for sure. I did see where they mentioned Bo Diaz in that write up. He had passed away in his native country, electricuted putting up his satelite. I will never forget hearing about it as a huge Reds fan I would listen to am 700 the official Reds station in Cincy. They announced his death as "Bo Diaz is a Crispy Critter!" They then quickly explained what happend. I was so shocked at the statement. How horrible was that person giving us the news of the death of another human being? Could you ever be so crude and rude? I personally boycotted their station for years after that!

That is one amazing collection. Did I miss the part where the guy said how he got all the autographs?
I collect NY Yankees, NY Giants, NY Rangers, NY Knicks, and NJ Nets. I am willing to trade. PM me if you have any cards signed by players from these teams.

Working on collecting all living New York Giants (football) and New York Yankees. The question is which team drives me nuts first!!!

I am curious myself. A collection like that leads me to believe he had to have some sort of affiliation with Major League Baseball during that time. I.E., photographer, stadium attendant, etc.

75,000 is a steal in my opinion. I can see that going for 6 figures.

I was thinking the same thing and what I think is this person actually worked for topps. Each player has to sign a players contract with Topps at that time this person could've hit the cards signed. The rarity of some of these signed cards is unreal. I know an old collector that said Alan Wiggins was the meanest human being he ever met...and the fact that he has all of his cards signed here is crazy.

I was also wondering. Back in the day, there was no ebay, so I was really wondering if he got them all himself or if he enlisted the help of friends, etc.

Cool thing to look at & read about.
