There was some debate a few years ago about local politicians wanting to put flouride in the local water supplies and the citizens not wanting it in there. So yes this could be considered a political issue.Drug and smoke free trading.

Until the early 20th century, fluoride's only use was as rat poison.
It was used by Nazi Germany for mass behavior control.
It is a large byproduct of steel production with no good way of disposal.
The steel industry financed the studies that "proved" that fluoride prevents cavities.
I think that says enough.
