Reallignment big topic this weekend - my 4 options
So, with owners and the league meeting this weekend talking about re-alignment, I looked it up, and drew out my 4 possible options. The biggest 2 issues I guess are Pitt and Philly together, and Minnesota not being in an all Canadian division. While I think the most logical option with keeping team rivalries in tact is my 2nd one, I think I like the 1st one the best...which makes things complicated regarding the playoffs...but save that for another day. Poll it up! Thoughts? I love talking realignment.

The Great Lakes were definately on my radar, but again, it was the Philly/Pittsburgh being in the same division that hurt that one...try to appease all teams...

That will NEVER happen. LOL
Is the Pitt/Philly rivalry really that big? I wasn't sure it was. My only issue with your divisions is that all of them place Pittsburgh and Washington in the same division. Playing each other that many times a year would take away from the Crosby/Ovy rivalry IMO.

it should be the stamkos/crosby rivalry now.
ovi is hardly in the top 10 best players in the league any more.
but thats for a different topic, dont want to get too off topic here.

In the league, I agree, Ovy isn't an elite player right now. But, in the media, particularly the US media, it's still Crosby/Ovechkin.

Examples 3 or 4 make the most sense.
You are never going to get away from Americans and their perceived love of Regional Rivalry. Bettman cut his teeth in the NBA a Sport so ™™™™g boring that they fight in the stands to get things going. Why else would he not shift the paradigm to an interlocking league?
Interlocking Playoff play is the only answer. The it doesn't matter a damn what division you play in and everybody has the chance to meet every other team at the top.

this is what i want.
its bs (in every league((especially football)) that you can finish with the fourth best record in the league but miss the playoffs.
