View my store BetaWhich type of baseball for autographs? Any secrets to prevent fading?
What are your opinions on the different types of baseballs for getting autographs? I have seen a few threads here about this same topic.
Have any of you tried Rawlings Little League balls? Obviously ROMLBs are best, but they get pricey. I tried a few ROLB2 balls with a Bic pen, and the autographs have faded quite a bit. Also tried CROLB after prepping the sweet spot and that hasn't faded (its been 2 years now).
Do you guys have any cheap alternatives to using ROMLBs or any secrets to prevent fading?Last edited by cincyfan; 06-16-2012 at 02:52 PM.

View my store BetaThe best synthetics I've seen have been CROLB's and ROLB3's. Still, ROMLB's are the best. But sometimes, it is the pen. Make sure it is bic.

View my store Betai don't think there is a great alternative to ROMLBs that i know of. thinking of switching to minor league balls when i graph those games. any positive/negative experience with them?
never had problems with fading when using good balls. a few that are 20+ yrs old have some toning, probably from the cheap holders i used to have them in. i put everything in the ultra pro UV protected cubes now.

I have used minor league baseballs and have never had any issues. I also think they white is brighter, so the autographs pops off.
I to put some of my older autographs in cheap cases and have faded. My favorite one of Mariano Rivera, Alfonso Soriano, Bernie Williams and four others is almost completed faded away
Worst part is I received them from Mariano and my connection is not as strong, but still have somewhat of a connection.
I collect Red Sox, Bears, Penguins, Celtics, Brian Urlacher, Sidney Crosby and Mario Lemieux cards. Need 1959 Topps Baseball cards for a set (early stages). If you have a large Photobucket, please list what you have from my wants.
My cards come from smoke free environment, so please be upfront if your cards are not. Also if your cards are creased or bent, be honest about it.

View my store Betaanyone try little league balls by chance? I know those are at walmart for a couple bucks. The texture of the ball seems similar to ROMLBs more so that ROLBs. Might give it a try.
