Anyone see the famous Jimmy Spence on that new History channel show last night? I was kinda enjoying it and laughing at the same time. The Greyflannel consignment outfit is located near me on LI.Mr.Spence authenicated the only known Mickey Mantle "Oaklahoma Kid" inscribed ball.It looked legit and the seller was hoping for $10-$15 grand.Since the the bow-tie bandit was associated with it it went for a whopping $7,500 or so.The owner was convinced that JSA was the best in the business and claims he himself started the collectibles market.I guess he should read some of these threads on SCF.

I caught the show. As much as I cringed throughout the episodes, it was kind of cool seeing a show on TV about sports memorabilia. Better than seeing another show about cupcake making..

lol how do you authenticate that? i guess it all comes down to the buyer and if they really think it's authentic regardless of what sticker is on it. thats why i dont really invest in memorabilia. unless you get it yourself you cant really feel comfortable with it. im gonna take the clemens balls i have to tristar and see if they get authenticated. if they do i'll sell them off or trade them off for cards. i know those are real lol

I don't believe Tristar will authenticate unless it was signed in front of them. Much like Steiner, Upper Deck, Mounted Memories, and MLB.
