Paying for addresses
I have been collecting autographs ttm/ip on and off for a few years now and I see that people are using different books such as harveys as well as pay per use websites to obtain addresses. Could someone please explain to me what is the purpose of paying for addresses. Is it just pure laziness? Most athletes who sign could be found for free from sites like this and others and a lot of athletes sign care of their team or the HOF. With a little detective work you could find the addy of any athlete you are looking for. Even if you pay for the book or site just because you use that source you still are not guaranteed a response back. Could somone please enlighten me? Thanks.

Personally, I pay for my Harvey lists because they are reliable and I don't have the time to put into detective work. With owning a home, working, going to grad school, writing a novel, working on this site, writing a blog, and family and friend obligations there isn't a lot of time to put into detective work.
I collect NY Yankees, NY Giants, NY Rangers, NY Knicks, and NJ Nets. I am willing to trade. PM me if you have any cards signed by players from these teams.
Working on collecting all living New York Giants (football) and New York Yankees. The question is which team drives me nuts first!!!

It's really not that much detective work involved. Between google, wikipedia, here and a couple of other sites I can pretty much find out with ease who will sign and were to send them to. But hey to each his own whatever works for them.
