    maybe like here in Texas where they have a concealed carry license. I carry my gun everywhere i go. That's the great thing of the CC License.

    From what I heard off duty or retired cops can carry their guns pretty much anywhere.

    But if it is their service revolver it is city/county/state property. I guess it depends on the area, but it seems to me that police should not be carrying service revolvers on personal time.

    You know I am the last person to stick up for the police department but I could understand how they would need them for self defense reasons if someone that they encountered on the streets recognized them and tried to challenge them while they are off duty. There is an old saying that goes something to the effect that a cop is a cop 24/7.

    That is why you own your own sidearm.
