2012 Official Boston Red Sox Thread
First game of the season. 2 runs in the 9th to tie the game and blown save by the Tigers have Justin Verlander winless for 5 straight years on opening day.

3-2 loss agains the Tigers. Pretty good game to start the season and the Red Sox are looking better than I expected agains a team that is clearly the one to beat in the American League.

I can't tell you I feel good about this season.I collect Red Sox, Bears, Penguins, Celtics, Brian Urlacher, Sidney Crosby and Mario Lemieux cards. Need 1959 Topps Baseball cards for a set (early stages). If you have a large Photobucket, please list what you have from my wants.
My cards come from smoke free environment, so please be upfront if your cards are not. Also if your cards are creased or bent, be honest about it.

The game today was terrible. I've been a fan too long to not be able to handle seeing them lose, but they were just taken out back & whipped all the way around. Only 2 runners even made it into scoring position all day & none after the 3rd inning. Beckett tied up his worst outing for giving up homers put the game way out of reach. Although, it wouldn't have mattered much with the ineffectiveness of the bullpen or the poor defensive play resulting in 2 errors. About the only bright spot so far has been the unexpected play of Sweeney. So far the kid is thriving in a Red Sox uniform!

Ok so This is the first game I have watched this season...
9th inning up 3 no outs and you give up a 3 run HR??
They need help in the bull pen and this guy as closer? I DONT THINK SO

I dont agree with that at all but i know the Boston bull pen is stinking up the joint
your closer CANNOT blow saves in the bottom of the 9th
not 2 in 4 games

I think this opening series almost defines this team...
the pitch calling was the worst I think I have seen in over 20 years
Really How many fastballs are you going to throw before they learn ??
this was just horrible way to start the season
oh well ending where they finished last season
