This franchise needs some kids who are hungry and want to win. Right now they are full of self entitled jerks who have 1 or 2 rings and want their money.

Also, stop playing "Sweet Caroline" in the Eighth inning. PPPPLLLLEEEEAAASSSSEEEE. (Especially of they're losing).

    End Mini Rant

Are you serious?!? The Sox may be in last place, but they're only 6 1/2 games out of 1st, it's only the 2ND WEEK OF MAY and you think they should scrap the season!?!?

The Rays and Cardinals were both more than 9 games out of the wildcard in their respective leagues going into September 1st last year. Maybe they should've scrapped the season too? (good thing for them they didn't, especially the cardinals)

In '06 the Dodgers were 49-57 going into the last week of July, maybe they should've scrapped the season too, but they didn't. They won 39 of their last 56 to make they playoffs, and they had less talent on that team than the Red Sox have now!

This is baseball, man!!!!!!!!!!! ANYTHING can, has, and will continue to happen!!!!!!!! The Sox have played ONLY 29 games they have 133 LEFT TO PLAY!! You wan't the them to give up now and start playing a lot of their Triple A guys regularly and it's not even May 10th?!?!

It may be a good thing you're not running the Red Sox. You'd have a lot of season ticket holders in Boston extremely mad at you. They'd be howling for your blood instead of Valentine's right now.

All jokes aside, you have some valid points in your post. They do need to bring up a few of they're top prospects to fill in some of the gaps on their team they have right now (especially in pitching) or at least let some of their guys in the bullpen who have pitched well and have the potential to start replace Buchholz and maybe Doubront in the rotation (I don't care that they've compiled a 5-2 record, they've allowed a ridiculous 52 earned runs in 65 innings). Who they really need back is Ellsbury, he's proven that he is the straw that sturs the Red Sox (that's my 'well, duh!' statement).

It's still a lot of season to go, give up now? No, no, my friend...have faith, I expect the Sox to be much closer to the front of this 5-horse race, even if it's later than sooner.

    Now, THAT, is a rant...

If they were in the Series, AlCS, or even in the playoffs last year, or hell even the last 2 seaons, I'd agree with you. However, this is clearly an ongoing problem dating back to last year and even beyond. There are cancerous personalities in that clubhouse now. We even have stories coming out that Beckett was playing golf 2 days before his missed start and hurt himself. Im not saying that guys cant play golf during the season, but it just goes to show u where this guy's priorities lie. And he's not the only one.

Second, I don;t think as many season ticket holders would be that upset with me because a lot of them are true long time and life long fans. The people who would be upset with me are the pink hats. They'd complain "hey i dont know any of these guys, they suck". But, therein lies the problem. This management has catered toward making it about pleasing the pink hats instead of winning baseball games, and it will catch up with them. When they keep losing, the pink hats will leave, then management will make some moves and the die hards will give management the middle finger and say "too little too late". But like suckers we'll still love the Sox (cause we're stupid like that).

Lastly, that league and division is not a throw away anymore. It's no longer just the Yankees and Red Sox. The Rays are true contenders, and the Jays and Orioles are doing exactly what i was saying (even if it was not by choice). They are saying screw it to the big name and veteran free agents and players, and going with the young talent and they're winning. Eventhough you're right, it is only May, but I think 6 1/2 in that division is going to be a lot tougher to make up than years past.

And honestly, like I said, I don't even think many of them truely want to win. In my opinion, in this game more than any other, you have to have the passion and desire to win, or you won't.

This team is a complete mess and it's only 30 games into the season. They need some major changes ASAP.
I collect Red Sox, Bears, Penguins, Celtics, Brian Urlacher, Sidney Crosby and Mario Lemieux cards. Need 1959 Topps Baseball cards for a set (early stages). If you have a large Photobucket, please list what you have from my wants.
My cards come from smoke free environment, so please be upfront if your cards are not. Also if your cards are creased or bent, be honest about it.

Trade Youk for some big league chew and a few new bats. Throw in Beckett if they have grape flavor. This team is a bunch of sissified overrated bums. They are turning into the thing I've always hated most.... A huge payroll with no results.

I am sorry but there is nothing wrong with playing golf on your DAY OFF...there was nothing wrong with having a beer on a DAY OFF in the clubhouse. This sort of thing has been going on forever and in other teams. We are on a 4 game winniong streak right now. I am not happy about the way they are playing and I think that we are not going to win this year but I still have hopes that they are going to come back from this and play better and finish strong.

So we are back to .500 and it is looking good for us lately. I hope they can kepp it up and take advantage of this. Now the issue is that Ortiz is not happy with the way the toen and the media are treating him.

They looked good last night in the final inning...holding off the rally and not giving up runs and the win...but still need a lot of work...

If you told me before the season that at this point the sox would be without their first 7 outfielders, their closer and an all star third baseman but still be tied with the Yankees I'd say that's not too bad. Hopefully they can keep winning and then climb the standings a bit as they start to get healthy

^I might have said "Man!! the Yankees must have a lot of injuries also and suck this year!"

Because no matter who they're tied with, they're still tied for last in what appears to be a powerhouse AL east.
