2012 SCF NHL Playoff Challenge




The rules are simple. Very similar to a March Madness Pool but with reseeding each round, underdog bonuses, and NO Bracket Busters! That's right - even if you pick all losers in the 1st round, you get to start new in the 2nd round!

• Post once in this thread each round
• Deadline for 1st round entry = 11:00 am (EST) on SUNDAY April 15th 2012
• Deadline for 2nd round entry = 8:00 pm (EST) on FRIDAY April 27th 2012
• For subsequent rounds, deadline for entry - 1 hour before the scheduled start time of the 1st game of the respective series. So if the first game of the 2nd round is shceduled to start at 6:30 pm EST, the deadline for that round will be 5:30 pm EST.
• Do NOT edit your post or you will be disqualified

Scoring:
First round series wins are 3 points
Second round series wins are 6 points
Conference final series wins are 9 points
Stanley cup series winner is 18 points
Picking the underdog gives you BONUS points!!
For example, if you correctly chose the #8 seed to beat the #1 seed you would receive 7 bonus points (8-1 = 7) in the first round
In the 2nd round the bonus is mulitplied by 2
In the Conference Finals the bonus is mulitplied by 3
For the Stanley Cup Final the bonus is multiplied by 4

How Scoring would work:
Round 1 Western Conference:
1v8: pick Vancouver & Vancouver wins = 3 points
2v7: pick St. Louis & San Jose wins = 0 points
3v6: pick Phoenix & Phoenix wins = 3 points
4v5: pick Detroit & Detroit wins = 4 points 3 + (5-4 = 1 bonus)
West Round 1 points = 10
