Gma's gettin' worse!!

Ma called a few hrs ago.
She's in nursing home of my hometown(1/2 block from folks).
Hospital said there wasn't any more they could do that the nursing home couldn't do as well. Nursing home would have more on-hands care.

Supposedly she's makin' no effort(hardly movin' & little or no eating/drinking).
So hopefully will be able to get there this wknd!!

I spoke to Mom about an hr ago.
Gma was sittin' in chair, but couldn't sit up straight.

Sad to say, but wish it'd happen soon.
Hate hearin' about what she's goin' thru.

Boss said as soon as I get the $$,
I should pack up & go home.
Gettin' time off isn't an issue.

It's not an easy thing to go through, lost my gma in 08 and she basically raised me since my ma was so young. At least when it happens you can rest easier knowing she won't be in any pain anymore.

I lost my gma back in November and she was always there for me and I miss her to death. I really hope the best for your grandma.

Well...Mom called yesterday.
She spent the mornin' w/gma, but gma pretty much slept most of the mornin'.
She talked a lil, but was hard to understand most of her words.
Gma COULD comprehend everything...so that was good!!

However..she IS such a dork!! LOL
Before I continue, keep the "I've fallen & can't get up" commercial in mind as I tell story.

Mom called me Wed & said, "Sweetie, we 'bout lost gma in BOTH meanings of the word!!"
"What do u mean 'both'?"
"Her heart stopped briefly & thought she had died.
After things calmed down & she had some rest. I came back after dinner to check on her. I looked all over for her & there was no sign of her. I checked community rm, cafe.
I was panicking cuz it had been about 1/2 hr!!"

After hearing this, I was worried myself, but here's where the humor comes....

A nurse had helped her to bathroom door. The nursing station was near bathroom, so the nurse went back to her desk while she waited for gma.
Gma's very weak of course...so u can hardly hear anything she says or does.

Instead of tuggin' on rope for assistance, she tried gettin' out herself but couldn't get door open. So she's knockin' on door, but it was so faint that the nurses couldn't even hear it.

SHE LOCKED HERSELF IN THE BATHROOM!!

"Help!!! I've taken, but can't get out!!"
Gotta love her!!

As of yesterday, if there's lil or no change, the nursing home has a few openings for permanent residence. She's in a temporary rm as of now.

So things are lookin' up at the moment!!
