    The Paul Ryan Choice

Governor Mitt Romney's choice of Congressman Paul Ryan as his vice-presidential running mate is one of those decisions that seem obvious -- if not inevitable -- in retrospect, even though it was by no means obvious to most of us beforehand.Anyone who wants to get a quick sense of who Paul Ryan is should watch a short video of a February 2010 meeting in which Congressman Ryan politely, but devastatingly, "schools" Barack Obama on the utter fraudulence of the statistics that the Obama administration was using to claim that ObamaCare would reduce the deficit. That video is...

The writer hit the nail on the head with this here....If this year's election is going to be decided on the basis of hard facts, the Obama administration is doomed.

Here's the thing. Romney is running for President. If anyone should be steering the conversation to real issues, shouldn't it be him? This seems like an indication that, if Romney gets elected, he's just going to be dancing to the Republican tune while Ryan pulls his strings.
8 years of Bush/Cheney tells me that isn't a good thing. Your President should be your President. With Romney/Ryan, he won't. Romney will only be President for the cameras. Ryan will be doing the actual job.

I don't understand why you believe that Romney would be nothing more than a puppet for the Republicans. If anything, Romney has had to fight the Republican establishment to get as far as he has. Newt was their guy.

He didn't have to fight, he was basically up against no one. Newt? Seriously? Even the hardest-line Conservative out there knows Gingrich couldn't win the Presidency, No one wanted Willard, but he was the lesser of many evils. Conservatives don't like Romney, he's too middle of the road. Conservatives DO like Ryan, he's their kind of guy. Picking Ryan is the only thing Romney has actually done. He's barely even answered a question yet. But you watch, suddenly Mitt will have tons to say. If this ticket wins the Presidency, Romney will be your President in name only and Ryan will be running the country from Cheney's old seat.

Unfortunatley the republican establishment says its not his turn .That's the problem with the repubs. they seem to have to get in line and run unsuccesfully a couple times then they are good to go . I know it's stupid but the establishment republicans are hurting our party . It's time to replace them as well.
