2012 Press Pass Showcase
Per Box Items:
3 Packs per box
5 cards per pack
1 autograph or relic card per pack
Press Pass Sell Sheet
The standard sized base set cards have either a color or mono-tone head-shot of the driver on front. The simple graphics on the sides and bottom are trimmed in a color associated with the driver. The set logo is centered along the the top of the card. The fronts are also accented with silver foil. The card backs feature a smaller, cropped picture as the same on the front. The backs also list moderate career highlights and career statistics. The card fronts have a glossier sheen then the card backs.
What I pulled:
15 unique cards, no duplicates
7 base set cards = 7/60 = 12% of the base set (all #/499)
2 gold parallel cards #/125
3 acetate inserts #/499
1 autograph
2 relic cards
Base card front and back:

Inserts and Parallels:
Gordon and Allmendinger/Keselowski Classic Collections #/125
#24 car acetate Showroom #/499
#88 car acetate Showroom #/499
Earnhardt Sr. acetate Champions Showcase #/499

The Hits:
Elite Exhibits acetate Travis Pastrana auto #/25
Prized Pieces Travis Pastrana 4-color Patch #/99
Masterpieces Joey Logano 3-color patch, sheet metal relic #/99

2012 Showcase is another high-end racing product from Press Pass. I appreciate the simple and clean design. The inserts and parallels will be fun to chase. The acetate cards remind me of throwback designs and are cool. I especially love the fact that every card is serial numbered! From the base cards to the inserts and hits, EVERYTHING is numbered! The overall quality and design are top notch. The only drawback is that I do not recommend 2012 Press Pass Showcase for set builders.
The Bottom Line:
I give 2012 Press Pass Showcase a buy rating. Completing the base set will be expensive. The hits are amazing! As with any high end product the hits are where it is at and Shoecase hits are sure to please! Buy a tin and trade your Dale Jr. cards to me!
The Final Score:
Final Ratings (Out of 5):
Base set collect-ability: 1/5
Big-hit Hunter: 5/5
Prospector Hunter: NA
Overall Design: 5/5
Fun: 5/5
Value: 4/5
Re-buy: 4/5
Overall Quality: 5/5
Overall: 29/35 (83% = B)
Press Pass sent me this box to review for Full Spectrum Baseball. I am also offering base cards to members here for a SASE.
Thanks to Press Pass for making this review possible!
