Paul Ryan's favorite band is Rage Against the Machine? Is this real life?

Floored when I heard this. But I had a few reactions:

1. Not gonna lie, I like Paul Ryan a bit more after hearing this news. He and I would probably get into it from a policy standpoint, but I would love nothing more than to sing "Killing in the Name of" with him.

2. Why? There's like a billion good bands out there to work out too, if that's why he likes RATM

3. Kind of a classless move by Tom Morello. I love the guy, think he's one of the best guitarists ever, but he should have just kept his mouth shut, or said something else entirely. If you're a musician, you should be happy that people enjoy your music, regardless of anything else.

4. If it comes out that Ryan is a Propagandhi fan, I'm voting for the Romney/Ryan ticket.

i was shocked to find out that rage against the machine was started as an opposition to paul ryan. i didn't even know who paul ryan was 20 years ago but apparently rage did. (yes i'm joking)

Im not an expert on that type of music but isn't RATM against everything that ryan stands for? It sounds like this is a ploy from the romney/ryan camp to appear to be cool. I would take this with a grain of salt.

Yes. I'm pretty sure those guys are communists. I'm also pretty sure that it's not a ploy. Not like Obama saying the Sox are his favorite team and then taking about 10 seconds to name one of their players, not being able to, and then fumbling through about 2 minutes of dialogue on his baseball "fandom."

Ryan is a symbol for the things that RATM is against, I would also not want him as a fan.

I didn't read your comments before posting my own....but I want to ask you.....if RATM's songs are political in nature and they are against the things that Ryan stands for, don't you think that they should be against him being a fan?
