So who wins the AL Central? The Tigers or the White Sox?

    White Sox

White Sox are getting career years out of almost everyone (or comeback seasons). They're not very good, but Detroit is even worse (although if the Tigers managed to get in, they'd be a scary team, especially in a short series).

Sounds like the Tigers of last year.

In a sense, yes, but i'd call more of them breakout seasons (exception to that would be guys like Peralta and Valverde).

I know I wouldn't want to face them but there aren't many playoffs teams I'd want the Yankees to face right about now

At the start of the season, the Tigers were favored to win the AL Central more than any other team was favored to win any division. How they are 3 games back and only 6 games above .500 is beyond me. Tigers, Angels, and Marlins all spent a TON this off-season yet NONE would be in the playoffs if it started today. You can also throw in the Dodgers, who had the best record in baseball to start the season and took all of Boston's payroll last month, because they wouldn't make it right now either.

White Sox. Both are playing poorly right now, but I give the Sox an edge.

It's pretty simple, they can't hit. Once you get past Fielder in the lineup, Young, Boesch, Peralta, Avila, and Infante can't get it done (consistently). Plus whoever has hit 5th this season has been awful, I like to call it the curse of Victor Martinez.

I'm beginning to think that the White Sox will pull it off, although I did stick with Detroit up until a week or so ago.

White Sox with a 2 game lead are currently losing 3-0 to the Tigers, headed to the bottom of the 4th.
