No, just think about it. With email and texting who writes much less writes in cursive any more. I stopped writing in cursive when I got out of high school and went to print because my hand writing is/was hard to read. I use to get D's in penmanship in elementary school and my spelling is getting worse with spell checker to save my behind.

As much as no one uses cursive anymore, almost everything important still requires a signature. Autographs will always be around.

ide like to add again to this form was talking to a teacher about theisue was told the student will be taught how to sign his/her name in cursive so this may be a blessing ,for us autographing seekers

Ballplayers, actors, politicians, doctors, etc will always write in chicken scratch. Autographs are not going away at least not in my lifetime.

The handwriting aside, I wanted to add I went to a "Nostalgia" show last month, and was amazed at the lack of interest in older entertainment autographs at this fairly large event. Sure, there were a few folks signing for a fee and they got some traffic, but there was only one dealer in the whole show with autographs, and he had a lot of quality sigs at very reasonable prices (I got an Elivis and a Brando... cool). But it did make me wonder how long the popularity of autographs will be around.

Autograph collecting isn't going anywhere. I don't write in cursive and haven't since grade school yet I still sign my name in cursive. A signature will always be a signature. We still have to sign the backs of our credit cards, our checks, every time we use a credit card, etc., etc. I think I speak for most people when I say that having a nice looking signature was something I looked forward to.

On a side note, what the hell do they teach kids in school anymore? Seriously.

The economy right now has a lot to do with this. People don't have the money to spend on autographs or other hobbies right now. The market is kind of saturated with memorabilia from people trying to sell their collections in order to pay bills. If the economy can recover so to will the autograph industry.

I find it amazing that not a lot of people write in cursive. I've been writing in cursive my whole life, from school notes, to essay answers, to anything else that requires writing (unless it needs to be typed). I always found that cursive was much faster and printing is a pain in the you know what. Guess I’m the odd man out, lol.
