    Some strangeness at Upper Deck?

Not sure if most people have already heard about this, but there were some questions raised about auctions from this seller:

    http://www.ebay.com/csc/newkicksonth...mplete=1&rt=nc

What seems to have caught people's attention is that the seller only had three Cup item auctions, which happened to be three of the most ridiculous pulls you could get from the product. Apparently Upper Deck is investigating, although I haven't heard anything since their statement.

These could be completely legitimate, if the seller bought them from his customers and/or opened a ton of cases. Pretty amazing luck, though, and it seems to be raising some concerns with hobbyists and those who bust wax.

I haven't herd any of that, nor have I seen any questions being raised about that guy. Where did all of this question raising occur?

Very strange indeed, These 3 MONSTER hits were all listed less then 2 weeks after the release of The Cup by the same seller, there was a thread about this on another hobby site, and it was almost immediately closed by a moderator and as now completely disappeared, I for one was disappointed with the closer of the thread which I hope does not happen here , I find it hard to believe that a seller from San Diego can get his hands on 3 monster hits less then 2 weeks after the release of the product.

Geez you think? This is an absolute crock of crap! First Upper Deck allows The Cup to be outrageously priced by unethical marketing practices (would not officially confirm if the product was short printed before release, then 2 days after release Chris Carlin decides to jump on the Upper Deck Facebook page and confirm it wasn't short printed), then this crap happens. When will it ever end for Upper Deck? Seems like every month something else negative is popping up.

I have opened maybe15 cases of the Cup since 2005-06, which is a lot less then many hobbyist's, I will never crack another tin of the Cup or any other Upper Deck product if it becomes known that these cards were somehow back doored from the Upper Deck plant, I hope we can get some kind of explanation about this!

As Guy alluded to, there has been discussion about it on a couple of other hobby sites including a longer thread over at Blowout.

I have no idea what happened or didn't happen, but right now the optics don't look good for UD.

It reeks of Nepotism. I smell a Rat..... San Diego is way too close to Carlsbad, like less than 5 minutes.

    Inside Job for sure.

The issue is that people have a hard time believing that someone can accumulate such a rare assortment of cards so quickly without the assistance of the company.

These kinds of accusations pop up every so often. People have made similar accusations against ITG in the past. Its not the first time for the same thing against UD either. Authenticity concerns, back door sales, reprinting cards, counterfeits, etc.

Sadly it's all speculation and hearsay. Has anybody tried contacting the seller about his monumentally good luck and seeing what other hits he got?
