Border Patrol agent shoots, kills woman in Calif.
Just saw this article... I have a feeling the full facts of this story will probably come out within 24-48 hours. What is your take on how the border patrol agent acted? Was he in the right or the wrong? I have my opinion on it, just want to field others.

CHULA VISTA, Calif. (AP) — A Border Patrol agent fatally shot a 32-year-old mother of five Friday in suburban San Diego as he rode on the hood of her car after she ran into him, authorities and family members said.
The agent fired after being driven several hundred yards on the hood, Chula Vista police Capt. Gary Wedge told The Associated Press.
The shooting occurred about five miles north of the Mexican border as plainclothes agents were looking to serve a felony warrant in the area to someone other than the woman, Border Patrol Deputy Chief Rodney Scott told U-T San Diego.
Scott said the agent was stuck atop the car as the woman drove.
"Fearing for his life, he discharged his weapon to get the vehicle to stop," Scott said. No other agents fired.
The woman was declared dead at the scene, and the agent was taken to a hospital. His injuries were not clear.
After talking to investigators, family members including her husband and cousin told U-T San Diego the woman killed was 32-year-old Valeria "Monique," Alvarado, a mother of five children ranging from ages 3 to 17.
"I love her to the fullest. That's my heart," husband Gilbert Alvarado said. "Where's the evidence my wife threatened a trained officer? I want justice."
Family members said Valeria Alvarado grew up in Chula Vista where the shooting took place but had been living about five miles away in the Southcrest neighborhood of San Diego, and they did not know why she was in her former hometown.
Hector Salazar, one of several neighbors who witnessed the incident, said he saw a man in civilian clothes on the hood of a black car aiming a gun at the windshield.
Salazar told U-T San Diego the man started pulling the trigger, and he heard about five shots. Moments later, other plainclothes agents approached the car, he said.
The person named in the warrant the agents were serving was not apprehended, Scott said.
The FBI and Chula Vista police are investigating.

his life was in danger, what other choice did he have....he may have a family as well, they forget to report those facts and only that she had kids...
if she was smart she would have stopped the car, then he wouldnt have fired his weapon

Seems weird as to why she would just keep driving with someone on the hood. Who would do that? Sounds like the guy fired warning shots too...

If I was hit by a car that didn't stop and continued to drive with myself still on the hood I would have done the same thing.
My question is why she didn't try to stop the car and kept on going? Her husband said "Where's the evidence my wife threatened a trained officer? I want justice.", last time I checked if you hit somebody with your car and continue driving with them on your hood the officer is clearly threatened. I don't see how the Husbands comment makes any sense but at the same time I see where he's coming from since he lost his wife.
This is a sad story that definitely could have been avoided if the women would have just hit her brakes.

How did the guy get hit by the car in the first place? Did she know that he was a officer? How fast was the car moving?

I remember two border patrols shot a drug dealer and went to prison JS for it. I hope our this doesn't repeat, once I read she drove a few hundred yards with him on her hood then thats the key to me.

I`m going to get jumped on for this but, this is a very good question and the omission of what actually happened makes me wonder.

Honestly does it matter how the guy got hit?
If he was standing in the middle of the road and was hit by accident does it really make a difference? The women still hit him and didn't stop so even if it was a freak accident that he got hit the women still decided to keep driving making a hit and run.
