How to create a picture of a nameplate consisting of 9 cards

So I've always been envious of members on SCF who have scanned nameplates of their favorite players showcased in their signatures.. My scanner isn't large enough, the player's name is 9 letters so 9 cards. How do I do this? Any suggestions or help is greatly appreciated, thanks!

Take scans of half and half and then edit them together?

Or you could try and use a camera to take a pic but pwaldo is right on with his suggestion.

Thanks guys, I most likely could've given this more thought and figured it out, LOL nothing that Windows Paint couldn't handle.
