Braves vs. Cardinals 1 Game Playoff

That infield fly call will definitely be the talk for awhile.

Left field umpire calling an infield fly, nothing more needs to be said.

    Brutal

Best thing about that call? It saved us from having to hear the tomahawk chop again.

I usually defend the umpires but this was a bad call. You rarely see an infield fly called when the infielder is still running back for the ball and even if he did intentionally drop the ball a double play would be virtually impossible.

Braves have no chance of winning a protest however.

Yea, that's what I don't get. If they let the ball drop, they wouldn't throw ANYONE out (as we all saw).

However, it's classless by the fans to throw things onto the field, uncalled for.

As a diehard Cardinal fan that was an awful call.

Yes im a huge cardinals fan and i can agree that wasnt a good call but you have to look at some of the other calls in the game too... like the late timeout call that led to a braves 2 run homerun that they shouldnt have gotten as well as the calling chipper safe at first, I understand that that was his last at bat and he is a great player and a shoe in for the HOF but that wasnt a good call either. The braves shot themselves in the foot with their bad defense. You cant say that call would have change the game and if it did you could look back at the 2 run shot that shouldnt have happened and blammed a Cardinals loss on that.
