The standard sized base set cards have a color picture of the driver. The picture is framed in gold foil embossed with the driver's name and set name. A grey bottom border has the logo the the series the driver races in. (ie, Sprint, Nationwide or Camping world) The card backs have a color picture of the driver's car. The card backs also list moderate career highlights.

2012 Press Pass Fan Fare left me with mixed feelings. The base set design looks good, but maybe not quite as good as a high end product should look? The drivers are listed in alphabetical order in the series that they drive in so sorting should be easy. 2012 Fan Fare is quite comprehensive and through with representing top drivers form the Sprint, Nationwide and Camping World series'. As one would expect with a high end product, the hits are where it is at! The overall design of the hits is good, but again I felt like there could have been more. Larger swatches, flashier graphics? One thing that I do not like to see in a high end product with a limited number of cards per box is the numbers of inserts and parallels. 16 base set cards and 20 inserts and parallels? For my money I would much rather have had an additional 10 base set cards. Buy the singles you want, you will be further ahead. One last thing to mention, several of the cards had chipping and denting along the top edge of the gold foil.

The Bottom Line:
Even with the awesome hits, I give 2012 Press Pass Fan Fare a shop around rating. Not a set product for set collectors as you will have an expensive time completing the base set. The inserts sets will be fun to chase. If you buy a box trade your Dale Jr.cards to me!

The biggest drawback being that set collectors will need multiple boxes for a complete set.
