The eBay Hot Pack: Rip Off or Rewarding?

I've bought some of the SP Authentic ones with the guaranteed rookie patch autographs before to help out my collection. Much better doing that then spending the money for a box and getting the same hit. Also had a couple baseball ones years back, best I pulled was a Lou Gehrig bat card and an autographed bat card of Stan Musial

Kind of shocked that no one else on this site has said anything about the pack searching that goes on to people that sells these. As long as someone's making a profit right?

Pack searching has been discussed many times on the site, but you won't see them sold here. This is straight from the site rules:

Section 1.01 Members cannot trade/sell any of the following: (d) Packs/Boxes – No selling of packs or wax boxes of cards is permitted on SCF unless you are a staff member or sponsor. Factory sealed boxes of cards can be traded, but not packs.
