your thoughts on the 1956 topps set?

back when Topps paid as much attention to the back of the card as to the front of the card. While I normally hate horizontal fronts on cards, this series does well by having an in-action pic and a portrait pic on the card. The backs feature the classic cartoons that take up more than half the back, but only one season of stats and lifetime stats. 1956 Topps I believe was also the first set that had access to all MLB players.

I wish you the best in trying to complete this one, especially in any type of decent condition.

And just a thought, isn't it nice not to see a paragraph full of disclaimers and licenses on the back of a card?

I think its the alltime best looking set, plus its full of superstars, and its not gigantic in number of cards. I think its a great set to go for. As a New York collector, i have team sets of 1956 Yankees, Dodgers, and Giants and they are so nice even with some in lessor condition.
ITS GREAT TO LOVE ALL NEW YORK SPORTS TEAMS!

    Greetings:
HBB G'Luck on the getting ones that are signed by players especially on finding ones that are signed that have been deceased as for the slabbing I am not a huge fan of graded so I rather not comment on that part but as for the vintage collector whos still working on a 1967 Topps set I am hoping you can complete the set before the 75th of its first released.

I'm a sucker for the late 50's Topps sets. 1956 was a great year. I love the profile and action shot combination. I'm going to buy either the '55 or '56 Ted Williams when I start my vintage binge here shortly. Car is paid off, so I can play a little more ;)

    Good luck with the collection!
