    Sale threads without prices

I can understand taking some offers on a 1/1 or super high-end card, but why do there seem to be so many "make an offer" threads for cards that aren't tough to find? If you're taking offers, then it's likely you have a price in mind. And if that's the case, then why not at least put the price with an OBO at the end?

I'd love to see prices become a site rule, similar to what they have at Blowout. I'm not big on playing a negotiating game over a $10 card because it's just not worth the time...when I see these threads now, I just skip right past them. I'm guessing I'm not the only one.

Anyway, that's my rant. I'll save my "quick sale" or "I really need these cards gone" rants for another day.

Some people here might see a card they like but dont have to have to have it. If the asking price is too high they might not counter or contact you that they are interested. Or some people want to make a slight profit and see the price and not counter. If there are no prices they most likely will contact you and you can negotiate.

Just a look on the other side. Im not saying its right but just a look on both ends.

if the price is so high that the person it petrified to counter, then clearly there is something wrong with the way you value the card, or you really aren't ready to sell it. most people will counter any reasonable offer, or accept it outright

its annoying to me too...your card, your price...and i rarely haggle with people on here unless its for a bundle

Agree, sale threads without prices are a waste of space and a waste of time.

Even the bulk buyers no one seems to like tell people how much below ebay they are looking to spend.

If I see a thread without prices, 90% of the time I dont even ask about cards I want / need. Happy to say ive never put cards for sale, without having some sort of value im looking for in return

Takes about 30 seconds to send a PM asking "How much do you want for XXX?" While I understand that it's nice to see all the information at once, sometimes sellers don't like to post their asking prices publicly lest they be subjected to snide comments from people that likely had little interest in buying in the first place. Keeping things private allows for a direct negotiation and ideally some more room to haggle for both parties. It's a lost art, haggling.

While I don't mind sale threads that don't list the price, I'm more irritated towards the ones where there are all text and no price listed (not to mention the ones that are all categorized in any way). I can understand if you don't have a camera/scanner/etc but I really don't want to make an offer on lower end inserts/base/parrallels/GU.

I am not a fan of the CMB/CML as I do think an effort needs to be put in order to make something happen.

    Just my 2 cents

Perhaps it's wrong of me, but when I see "make me an offer", my brain computes that as "I'm looking for a potential buyer who isn't aware of the current market value of this card and will offer more than that for it."
That doesn't necessarily stop me from making a market-reflective offer if I see a card that I'm interested in, but I would expect the response back to those offers to be unfavourable, most of the time.
