Two 1/1's in the same pack!

this weekend i was busting a few boxes from a recent spending spree. halfway through a box of 2006 bowman heritage i came across a Chris Capuano card that, to my excitement, had a Josh Beckett printing plate sort of stuck to the back. when i pulled the plate off i realized the Capuano was also a 1/1! these are my first pack pulled 1/1s and both are all-stars. anyone else ever get 2 in one pack before?

also in the box i pulled a Ryan Howard relic, Victor Martinez relic #d to 49, foils of Cain (RC), Hamels (RC), Pujols, ARod...and a bunch of other top loader worthy cards. feel like i did pretty good for a $50 box.

Damn you I've never pulled a 1/1 and you pull TWO in the same pack!?!?! Very impressive congrats!

That's awesome! I actually had that happen with 2008 or 2009 Press Pass Legends Basketball... mine were two plates that stuck together, both of Danny Manning oddly enough, and the first was the front, and the second was the back of the card!

Congrats on a sweet pull, and an even better story!

There's a printing plate that you can tell was used (or doctored by Topps to look used). Most of the newer plates look mint and shiny.

ha, yea there's defintely a bunch of ink residue and finger prints on it. i think that's what made them stick together, thus the extra 1/1 (assuming they didn't put 2 in the pack on purpose). unfortunately it left a bit of an ink stain on the back of the other card.

My best guess would be that Topps would not intentionally place two 1/1 cards in the same pack. It usually happens when they are stuck together and that's not something that Topps would plan for.
