Alex, the problem is that Israel has repeatedly offered a two-state solution, and the Palestinians are only interested in a one-state solution. By the way, you ought to do some research and why out why the map has changed in those ways.

I'm not taking sides, I believe that to a certain extent both of them are wrong and unfortunately there might not be ANY solution whatsoever.

Back when I was a christian, I was told that one day WWIII would happen and it would happen in this section of the world.

That's because this goes far beyond this piece of land at this particular time. It goes back centuries farther than Israel as we know it has existed.

I'm certain there have been isolated attacks, but nothing organized or orchestrated by the Israeli state with the intent to take land or kill for the sake of killing.
