I’ve found a few cards with patches that I’m a little suspicious of, so I’m posting links for discussion.
First let me say, I am not stating that any of these are fake, I’m only stating they’re suspicious. So if one of these belongs to anyone reading, feel free to defend your cards. The first three are the only examples I’ve seen from those sets with a patch, so their automatically suspicious. However, if it turns out one of these sets did include patches and I’m not aware of it, please point that out. Ha.
I hope to hear other’s opinions on these.

This is the only 2006 Tristar GU I’ve ever seen with a Patch. There was a regular version of this card (this is an example) and a version numbered /250. The only difference I can tell is the numbered version usually included a stripe across the jersey swatch, but none had patches.

Here’s the one that prompted me to post these today.
It’s a cool material piece of what looks like maybe a laundry tag. If it wasn’t the only 2006 Bowman GU card with a Patch I’d probably be hoping the seller came down on his price. Alas, even if it is real I don’t think I could feel good about it considering the set wasn’t released with patches so I’d always have that doubt.

2006 Bowman Sterling auto (base version). There is also a refractor version /199 and a Black Refractor Version /25, but none had patches that I’m aware. Although the GU material in all parallels comes in seemingly random solid colors, this is the only one I’ve seen with a Patch or tag.

Finally, here’s one that should have a patch. The 2007 Bowman Draft Future’s Game Prospects Patch /99. I’ve actually debated buying this card for months now, as the patch /99 card is the only ’07 Bowman I’m still missing for my PC. I haven’t gone after this one because I wouldn’t pay his asking price and also I never find myself wanting to tie up funds making an offer on COMC. Plus that patch is bordering on too good to be true.
I’ve actually wanted to ask for opinions on the 2007 Bowman Patch for a while now since I still debate sending the seller an offer from time to time. So let me know your thoughts on if it’s real or not.
Opinions are any of these are welcome. And feel free to mention any other examples you’ve found where only one from the entire line had a patch. Were you suspicious of it or accepting? Or just suspicious patch cards in general.
Thanks in advance for the feedback!Joey Votto can run faster, jump higher, dive deeper, stay under longer, come up dryer and whip his weight in wildcats while gettin' kicked every fifteen minutes by a Zebra.

View my store BetaI'm pretty sure the first two are legit. Don't really know enough about the others.
It is very hard to fake a patch that doesn't cover the whole window (first one posted) as you would have to stitch it on instead of just gluing it. The second one isn't really a patch but was some iron on logo from the jersey (tag maybe?). They were numerous in that set when it came out.Trade Bucket: Hidden Content

View my store BetaGreetings:
Basically what I wish the card companies would do but dont is if a GUed card contains a patch and is #'d out of xx/xx is to catagorize it on a file so should say a card pop up on ebay then you compare it to when it was released with its notes and then ya can detect if its legit or not. For example the last Votto card you shown is on file saying card #'d 23/50 and in the notes on file they said thats the one with the patch showing the 'S' and its 2 colored so its legit no need for to notify the seller on the fake card but say they #'d 23/50 is a piece that was originally patch but a seller makes into a fake by passing it as a 3 colored random patch from an event Votto was in and it doesn't match what is mentioned in the file thats when the company should alert the local authorties to have the person selling the card arrested for having fake goods. I say this cause I have been attending the last 4 National Conventions and have at least seen 1 dealer selling patches you could place on a replica jersey to make it more legit to fool others and then selling jerseys that claimed to been actual GUed ones by adding these patches. So with said you think the companies would listen to someone like me saying what they should do NO!!!!! they rather not they have other things to wonder about instead. Thats my take on what you should do about the patch cards and when it doubt if it looks like a duck but meows like a cat then ya know its fake so watch carefully."Any ballplayer that doesn't sign Autographs for little kids Ain't an American. He is a Communist"-Rogers Hornsby on Signing an Autograph as a Manager in 1942 with the St. Louis Browns.
