I realize we need cuts...But those cuts better be 100% across the board!
If you cut a dollar from Social Programs the a dollar MUST be cut In defense spending as well as raise the tax revenue a dollar.

The Republicans only want to protect their campaign donors! and NOTHING MORE! THE GOP has brought NOTHING to the table and will not in the end.

It doesn't change the fact that what the Democrats came out with was a terrible plan, with absolutely no historical precedent of anything like it working well.

so if republicans want a cut in entitlements, they have to give up a cut to military and a tax hike?

why should they have to give up two and the dems one?

Because it is in the best interest overall for the counrty

We still fail to address paying down the debt!
we have to cut spending further to handle interest payments then have a surplus to pay the debt!

Cuts in defense spending should be something that both parties agree on at this point. The way we wage war has changed tremendously over the past 30 years. We don't need to build more ships, like Mr. Romney wanted. Cuts in entitlements will be more productive over the long-term, because those cuts (like benefits), compound over time.

building ships creates jobs, raising taxes and budget cuts do not

I agree we need to make cuts, but I would have more of an interest in welfare reform, than cutting SS or MC

also think reform in military spending would cut the budget, but we need to keep our soldiers employed, we have no jobs for them.

Welfare reform won't net us enough money. And cuts to ANY program would eliminate jobs. Medicare, SS, Defense, etc.

You destroy them and build more to replace them! Hooray for John Maynard Keynes! Let's hear it for the broken window fallacy!

Frankly I have no idea what the hell to do with them. Therefore, don't build them!
