Why is Obama campaigning? That makes no sense. He already won and has no chance of ever winning again. He literally has nothing to campaign for.
The Republicans on the other hand are just as guilty of not dealing and, as per that article, still see a reason to campaign. It doesn't help that they're still looking for people who aren't themselves to blame for the loss they refuse to admit. They believe they're on some sort of moral high ground and everyone should listen to and respect them. Sorry, but Obama is President. That trumps any sort of self declared morality and righteousness. The President should be respected and listened to. The Republicans don't respect the office, they don't respect the system, they don't respect their opposition and they don't respect the people. If they respected the office, they would extend the first real olive branch in this. If they respected the system, they would admit defeat, like they told everyone to do when GWB "won" his first election. If they respected their opposition they would talk to the Democrats instead of whining about them. If they respected the people they would listen to them instead of calling them stupid for not voting Republican.
So no, they are still campaigning. I understand it's difficult to stop something you've been doing for four years. It's an Addiction and the Republican party needs help. Maybe Dr. Phil?

You're right. It does make no sense. Doesn't change the fact that he is still playing ideologue instead of trying to fix our financial problems by offering practical solutions.

boss, I see what you are saying, but I do not agree, we owe them hip replacements and such. we need to realize the baby boomers are our seniors and things will be tight for a while.

cut government pay, benefits and pensions, that should pay for the seniors.

I agree when talking about "The Greatest Generation", but screw the baby boomers, they led us into this mess. How many of the kids that voted for Obama realize that they are agreeing to proceed on a path that requires an ever greater part of their wealth be transferred to the "Grasshopper Generation" as they consume more and more health care as they age?

Oh, ok. And what are the Republicans doing? As long as military cuts and tax increases are "off the table" they're doing exactly what you just accused Obama of. Don't be mad because he's the first one to have the backbone to actually stand up to your party.

If the Republican party had any backbone, they'd support conservative ideas. They cave all the time by supporting big government projects, stick their nose into social issues that the Federal Government has no reason to be involved with, and now they want to give in on immigration. All the supposed Tea Party candidates immediately caved and raised the debt limit and I'm sure they'll simply just do it again. I wish the Republican Party had backbone.

The Republican party has no backbone? Their backbone is fine, it's their brain that needs to be checked. Not their conservative ideals, that's fine, but they are so self-deluded right now. They're convinced they actually won the election because they think they should have and the voters are stupid, oh, but only the ones that aren't white (thank you Ms.Coulter).
