NHL NHLPA make no progress after talks with mediators
After arriving at another dead end in negotiations, the NHL and NHL Players' Association emerged from two days of mediation with a new direction to consider.
Commissioner Gary Bettman proposed Thursday that the leadership from both sides step aside for the next bargaining session, leaving a group of owners and players to try and break the stalemate. The specific parameters of the meeting weren't set out and the NHLPA said it would take the offer to its executive board and negotiating committee for consideration.
That the leaders of both sides step aside might be the first smart thing Bettman has said in (what seems like) forever...
Put Crosby and Lemieux in a room and let them sort it out lol...Honestly, I JUST WANT TO SEE SOME NHL HOCKEY!!!!

To show its commitment to honest and forthright discussion about the NHL's intentions the NHL will delegate Jeremy Jacobs as the sole representative on its behalf.

Take out Jacobs, and half of the PA reps. Put in Hamrlik as one, at least he'll push for a deal.
