1. Alex hasn't answered it yet.
2. An ideology of a utopia, does that make you feel better inside?
3. It's impossible toredistribute wealth in communism, so no, no one has described communism.
In the "ideology" of a communist utopia the government does not own business, there is common ownership, everyone owns business.

"Socialism works because they're not American"
That's intriguing. Please explain.

I thought my explanation of American entitlement was my explanation, but a lot of Americans, especially this generation feel as if being as good as the next guy is unacceptable. The prevailing wisdom is that each child is special and we are all entitled to the American Dream. The truth, in my opinion, is that the American Dream has is not even close to what is was say 50 years ago.....it used to mean that you could come to this country and make a nice life through hard work and whatnot. Owning your own home and being free to live happy life. Now it means making millions and being on TV or being a famous athlete. Bringing something like socialism in a modified form would mean you would have to have some compassion and not worry about doing without for the sake of others. We as a society, I don't, believe are there......

Through government. The government takes all in and distributes it to the people. Do you think Russians were lining up for bread because it's fun?
You don't know the difference between the two. You think they're the same thing but communism is when it works perfectly and socialism is the reality of of not. This is completely incorrect. Simply put you don't know what socialism is.

That's interesting. The "Canadian Dream" is the same as the American one but with gravy and cheese. The same thing has happened up here. You had Paris Hilton and we countered with Justin Bieber. I do agree that keeping up with the Jones's is no longer acceptable to most. Now everyone has to be the Jones's. You may have a point that you're not there, but the first step towards it is to teach Americans what socialism is and that it is not the same as communism. So far this thread is a scathing indictment of America's cold war era education system.

You asking the wrong question, you should be asking who the finalists were on the Voice.......guaranteed we'd get that right....

Yeah, let me use the arguement you use against me against you.
Simply put you don't know what communism is. Anyways, my break is over and as much as I would like to argue about it all day, I don't have time. Doesnt seem like its going anywhere anyways.

Way to ignore several posts and read one line. Is that how you respond to everything? You've given no actual argument, just loosely defined communism as socialism. I've given examples that go against what you say. I've actually argued my point. You've just argued and now have nothing more to say because you're wrong. If you seriously think that's the entire argument I've made over three pages you're just not reading and merely responding to avatars. That sort of thing isn't worth the time. Remember I'm not the one who thinks perfection we is a necessary part for an ideology (but only that one, for some reason) to exist. You are. You said it. You don't know what you are talking about. I now see why America is so politically screwed up. Nobody knows what they're talking about.

Actually socialism typically leads to some form of communism. First you get the people to accept that their hard work should provide for others, then you get the people to accept that their hard work should provide for the government. In both cases the individual's rights are inhibited for the good of others.

Winston Churchill said it best...
“Socialism is a philosophy of failure, the creed of ignorance, and the gospel of envy, its inherent virtue is the equal sharing of misery.”
If anybody needs it translated, just let me know.Last edited by duane1969; 12-06-2012 at 03:07 PM.
