Thats poor ownership and I have read the stories myself over the years. However, something with the dog wasnt right because a human did not properly rain there dog. That as well could happen with any dog. The media only reports for of certain breeds because the public takes interest. When I was young I was attack by a dog just a mix mutt... not any certain breed. I was lucky to get way with no major injuries.

The media reports SERIOUS dog attacks. Those attacks are perpetrated by pitbulls more often than not. Several breeds of dogs bite more frequently than pitbulls; the difference is they do not cause serious injury and are therefore not newsworthy.

Many years ago when I lived up north my neighboor and her b/f owned two dogs one of them was a pit bull. I liked the pit bull and all but he was soft as a pillow. My cat used to come down stairs and punk the pit bull. One day he was chained up outside next the other dog and he was too scared to wonder off. He just stood next to the other dog who was looking at him like you are free to run off why are you still here. I just happen to look out side and saw that he was unchained and ran over there. Instead of attacking me or running off he went up to the other dog and I was able to chain him to the fence. Again I liked the dog and we used to play together but that is a classic example that all pit bulls are not vicious killers.

Is it the breed of dog or breed of owner that's the problem, though. Pit bulls are very popular among "I'm a big tough man" kinda guys. The kind of guys who will attack you themselves. Are serious pot bull attacks more frequent than other breeds because more muscle brained morons buy pit bulls than any other breed?

Maybe were targetting the wrong breed and species in this.
