I honestly don't think overpopulation is a problem (right now) nor is it the cause of most of the world's current problems. The majority of wars that are going on or conflicts have to do more with religion or somebody different than somebody instead of attacking a country for food or water. Will this be an issue in the future? Yes but not now.

It's a combination of overpopulation and over consumption as well. We use much, much more than we need. I guess that is the bigger concern.
