Shooting reported at Conn elementary school

I don't care if I get banned from P&R for saying this but anyone who hurts/kills a child should be tourted and executed in the worst way possible.

Let's stay away from politicizing this. There will be arguments to be made in the coming weeks and months. Now is not the time.

Too bad he's already dead (as per the link). I guess we're not allowed to talk about gun control for two weeks again...

It is ALREADY being politicized by the media. I agree to keep it clean here.

That's what we should all be doing. We let the events play out and hope for the best. Then we analyze later.

You expected different? The media needs conflict to sell. How do you get conflict about a shooting?Politics! How do you drag politics into it? Talk gun control!
Now, I agree things like this shouldn't be politicized, but that shouldn't mean no gun control talk. This is a huge problem and it's never going to be solved if we all stop talking at every occurance of gun violence. This should be the time to OPEN talks, not shut them down. It needs to be done, though, with "liberal" "conservative" "Democrat" "Republican" and all those other words left out. An honest discussion where "ban all guns" is as valid an opinion as "it should be mandatory to own a gun" and both are as valid as everything in between.
It can't be done in the media. It can't be done in the White House. It can't be done on Capitol Hill. It can only be done if people, not politicians and pundits start talking, not stop. It's a sad thing that occurred. It always is and it's a hard talk to have every time. It needs to be done though. To ban all discussion in the name of not politicizing is throwing the baby out with the bathwater and does nothing but ensure it will happen again and again and again and again and...
