"There is nothing which I dread so much as a division of the republic into two great parties, each arranged under its leader, and concerting measures in opposition to each other. This, in my humble apprehension, is to be dreaded as the greatest political evil under our Constitution" - John Adams, March 4, 1797 – March 4, 1801

again, the criminals and insane people are the issue, not the average gun owner. making more laws for the honest people does nothing to fix the issue.
this is the same logic as increasing taxes but not cutting spending, this does not fix anything, just makes people feel like they get to punish those they think should be punished. the tax payers are not at fault, government spending is.
gun owners are not at fault, criminals are.

allowing my gun to be stolen? hello, if it was stolen that would mean I had no part of it, someone took it without my permission!!!!
I want to do stuff that actually works and not punish those that should not be punished and really punish those that should be punished.
the blame is not on the owner it is on the criminal, and when a criminal is caught I do not believe in prisoner rights, you have no rights if you are a criminal.
the real issue is repeat offenders and soft sentencing, not a home owner who should make their house in to fort knox.
neglect would be leaving your gun in the front yard, leaving a loaded gun unsecured around children, or punishing the innocent because you cannot deal with the guilty.
wickabee, at least you don't attack and name call

If someone steals your potato peeler and kills someone with it.........
If someone steals a rock from your yard and kills someone with it.........
If someone steals your chainsaw and kills someone with it........
If someone steals an apple off your tree and kills someone with it......
If someone steals your pillow and kills someone with it.........
If someone steals your belt and kills someone with it.........
If someone steals your mail and kills someone with it.........
Now the mind blown question is, if someone digs up your body after you're buried (if you decide to be buried) and kills someone with it. Are you held accountable, or your next of kin for not correctly locking your bones up? Give me a break. A gun is NOT any of those things, its a gun. If you cannot understand that aspect of this entire discussion you bring nothing into it but ignorance.
