TAOS, N.M. - For the first time ever in New Mexico, a Canadian high school ice hockey team will make the 1,800 mile journey (each way) to Taos, NM to face off against New Mexico's top high school teams during the All Star Showcase Tournament, Jan. 4 through 6, 2013.
The St. Thomas Aquinas Saints, from Kenora, Ontario in Canada, are scheduled to play a total of six exhibition games against several of NM's best ice hockey teams - including the reputable Taos Ice Tigers - during the tournament.
Ice hockey is the official winter sport of Canada, which is widely respected for its skilled ice hockey teams.
