The Americans dominated in every area - better goaltending, more speed, greater discipline. Canada was outplayed, outcoached, and completely outclassed.

Besides the 2010 Olympics, we haven't won anything in the past four years. This is four straight at the WJHC, and two in a row where the Canadian team gets to watch the final from their couches. The same is true of the World Championships, which we haven't won since 2007. I know Canadian fans like to use the argument that we don't send our best players, but neither do most other countries and our performance has been so poor that it's knocked us down in the seedings for Sochi.

When we get on the big ice, too many of our players just don't have the speed and skill to match with the Americans, Russians and Swedes. Hockey Canada needs to stop believing that we're somehow superior and that tradition will help us to win. Our kids already have a physical edge, but we too often seem slow and unskilled beside some of these other countries.

Really glad I didn't stay up to watch this one. Sat through the replay and it was just a horrible game to watch as a fan. You hate seeing the opponent just dominate right off the bat and build up an insurmountable lead. Blame Subban!
