    Shipping help!

I have been buying size 0 bubble envelopes from Dollarama for $1 (3 envelopes per package). I then cut them in half so that I have 6 enveloped and just tape the ends shut. However, I do like the link that egghead529 posted. I may consider that now too.

Edit: Dang, looks like US shipping only from that link.

I have not bought a bubble mailer for well over 5 years now. I live in a smaller town and I have all the downtown merchants save every size bubble mailer they get.

I get them as big as 12 X 16 and as small as zero. I cut all the larger ones down to card size, I have over 500 in inventory, and not a cent out of pocket.

Even if you ask friends, you'd be surprised at how many of these people receive as part of their regular mail.

Same, except I don't cut mine in half.

Probably to the chagrin of all my trading partners, I just re-use anything that gets mailed to me. However, I am not a bulk seller so I don't require excess mailers.

If you're really stuck, try the local computer store. They get tons of material shipped to them in bubble mailers and they basically throw out or recycle whatever thy don't use. Sometimes I find excellent shipping materials for free from them.

    Cheers,

I buy them in bulk 500 lots (last lot was last March and still have 80ish left).

Heres an example of a 500 lot

I don't remember exactly who I bought them from but it was right around the same price as the above link. Can't go wrong at $.11 cents a mailer!

I do the same as reoddai, just tape a piece of folded white paper over a traded for bubble envelope mailed card and recycle it. The recipient can than remove the paper and do the same. Strange but about 10% of the envelopes I receive, the stamp hasn't been marked so I reuse that too! When that happens, cost of shipping = $0!

I used to buy from royal mailers when I sold in bulk. I got a box of 500, that were big enough to cut, and use as 2, and it ended up at about 7cents each, so after cutting and taping, its about 4 cents an envelope.
