Cool beans man! 90% of my collection is base and inserts, I'll take a binder packed full of cheap stuff over one patch card every time.

I got to see Smith play in Game 3 of the '82 Finals, the whole thing was men vs boys of course, but he made every save look so easy. I saw him play in a couple old-timer games over the last few years, near the end of the game they'd have the pee-wee (midget? Tim-Bit?) players come out to play the pros, when the little guys a girls would "score" on him he threw huge fake tantrums, I think he's pretty happy these days eh?

I agree. There is something about getting some of those elusive base cards (not hard to find but hard to get a trade done for them).

This is SO true, hardly anyone keeps base lying around, I give away what I can, but I have a box of recent stuff piling up in the attic. I managed to score a STACK of base and inserts, Keslers & Schneiders & Lindens & Burrowses & Looooooo, at the last card show, the guy looked through it all and said "Ok, the pile is 5 dollars but this insert is 3 dollars, is that ok?"...................ummmmmmm golly, 52 cards for 8 bucks, I think I can swing that :)

Ed, I'm going to send you all my Leafs base and inserts I still have lying around, so that way you can warm up to a better team. It's never too late to change, or forgive yourself for previous bad mistakes.

The day that a bunch of base cards are just as exciting to track down, pick up, trade for or receive in the mail is the day that you know you have got the right collection going for your pc.
