Question about 2011-12 OPC Signature Brian Boyle SP
The other day Upper Deck released the odds of the various OPC Signature cards for this year and Brian Boyle at 1:103,626 is the rarest of them all. There is currently one on E-Bay for sale (not my auction, although I wish it was): http://www.ebay.com/itm/270831782188...84.m1423.l2649 for $2500 BIN or Best Offer.
Sometimes cards are rare and valuable and sometimes they are rare and not that valuable, such as the OPC blank back cards of common players. My question is which category do you think this card falls into given that it is Brian Boyle. Is it rare and valuable or rare and not that valuable?

i would go with rare and not as valuable as the seller is hoping, however you know a few master set collectors are going to want to have that card. It will be interesting to see what it goes for, if he does sell it.

Rare and (likely) valuable, but not anywhere close to that price.
That is a pretty popular set for set-builders though. Wouldn't be surprised to actually see it sell for a couple of hundred bucks.

rare but not valuable. i'm sure people would rather spend that same amount of money on a gretzky or crosby auto rather than a boyle auto rare or not.

Hello,
This is actually our card, my reasoning for posting at such a high amount was to gauge interest in it, keeping it the top of the page in most o-pee-chee searches.
I know it is not going to go for $2500, while being such a hard pull it is worth based on scarcity more than a common auto though.

Good strategy actually. I wouldn't be surprised if you get an offer near $150-$200 considering how many people collect the OPC set.

I have actually gotten several offers for it, none of which are worth mentioning, well ok most are 10-15, I hate to say this, but based on the scarcity, it has to be worth more than that. Maybe in the end I will hold on to it, and it will become my Andy Pafko.

try putting OPC and AUTO in your auction title to get more hits.

Especially AUTO, I always search for autos on eBay, never signatures...
I do wonder what happened to the card to be so scarce, did they accidentaly burn all their Brian Boyle stickers and managed to salvage a couple thus making it so scarce or what !

Congrats to aandzcards for selling this card. It turns out that this card is both rare and valuable to the right O-Pee-Chee collector.
