You are absolutely right Shrew. American needs to follow Austrialia's lead and keep religion and it's biases out of our courtrooms and gov't.Drug and smoke free trading.

I have made a few court appearances and with the let's say defendants that lie on the bible anyway I am going to say it might not matter what religion it is.You can put your hand on it and lie

I would agree to tell the truth in court, it doesn't really matter if I put my hand on the bible or any other fictional book

You are right it dosen't matter a liar is a liar but what I have a problem with is the government's implied endorsement of christanity.

In a court room it's not a symbol of religion, it's a symbol of honesty, integrity and goodness. Just like the Ten Commandments on the wall are a symbol of law and order, not religion.

True but that integrity is sometime compromised.My point is people lie an a bible and in church or whatever you pray to constantly.Hell I have prayed that i would never drink that much again while praying to the toilet.Of course i lied there

So there should be no problem whatsoever with switching out the bible for the koran or better yet the egyptian book of the dead.
