Oilers acquire D Fistric from Stars for third-round pick

The Edmonton Oilers have acquired defenceman Mark Fistric from the Dallas Stars in exchange for a third-round selection in the 2013 NHL Draft.
The 26-year-old Edmonton native appeared in 60 games for the Stars last season, posting two assists with 41 penalty minutes.
Fistric has played his entire five-year career for the Stars, after the team selected the 6'2", 233 lb blueliner with the 28th pick in the first round of the 2004 NHL Draft.

I absolutely love this trade. Fistric is exactly the type of player the Oilers need right now with his physical and defensive abilities. Our group of top 6 defensemen have rounded out to look decent. I won't call it great yet, but it is much better than it has been in recent years.

I don't see why people think our defense is so terrible I mean sure it's young but the potential is ther good well rounded group of puck moving, offensive aggressive defensmen with still alot of up and coming defense in our system the future looks bright.
