I pulled a white whale last month, is it a real one of one?

Is it what you call a real one of one? My son pulled it sunday morning.

A one of one means just what it says. It's unique, and it will have a 1/1 serial on it. The picture above is a 1/1, so yes.

As for the white whale, it depends on what the serialization says. Every one I've ever seen is a 1/1, but I cannot state definitively that is always so. I know for example that Ryan Braun had multiple white whales for Triple Threads a year or two ago. Multiple white whales with 1/1, but with different artifacts (one being a patch, one a game used bat, etc).

People misuse the "1 of 1" identifier on Ebay. Example, if there's 100 of a card made, each being serialized, and the serial number matches the number of the player's uniform, they call that a 1 of 1, too. It's not. By that rationale, 45/100 is a 1 of 1, 23/100 is a 1 of 1, 37 is a 1 of 1, etc.

A One of one means that only one of that card was made. That's all it means. Period.

Thanks Lambeau, so, in my mind ( I have one! yippi!). A one of one have to be numbered 1/1, simply as that. Thanks again!

made a thread recently of how i pulled 2 from one pack, my first and only pack pulled 1/1's. they were bowman heritage 06, pulled a chris capuano black border...stuck to the back of it was a josh beckett printing plate. suh-weet
